1471-
Death of prince of Wales, no more opposition because of the lack of Lancastrian claimants to the throne.
No more overnights subjects-all minors. Clarence is now neutralised and is on Edward’s side.
1477-
Clarence judicially murders servant for supposedly killing wife. Accuses Edward of killing associates. Clarence out on trial for treason and drowned in a vat of wine
Strengthening Monarchy:
Controlling parts of the Kingdom
Northern Control:
Edward’s brother Richard is incharge, marries Anne Neville so gains some of Warwick’s estates. Given Palatinate- power to raise an army without the king’s permission. He can also keep any land he conquers in Scotland.
Midlands:
Hastings & York control Midlands. Hastings is given some of Clarence’s confiscated lands. He helps oversee Edward’s son Richard Duke of York’s territories.
South West:
Elizabeth’s sons the Grey brothers replace the Courtney family.
Edward:
Son of the King, becomes new prince of Wales and is under the control of Anthony Woodville.
