4 General Points during the Field Trip
you make be asked to do one thing the entire trip and have kids rotate to you, or you will be with one group of kids the entire time and rotate to all areas
during the bird presentation, if you are not presenting, you are still expected to be there listening to the other staff members; you may be asked to assist with presenting the birds
if you are leading a group, another adult such as a teacher or parent will always be with you.
If you are leading a hike, you will be teaching general concepts on roles animals play in their environment and appreciation for diversity; there are a couple of spots staff use as planned teachable moments and others with interactive activities; you are not expected to be able to identify everything, but base knowledge of plants and animals to teach ecological concepts is a must

after all the students have left, we wipe down tables, sweep, clean bathrooms, take out trash, and get the building ready for the next field trip or event
cleaning may also be needed in the field classroom and treehouse classroom
