A widespread, painful, vesicular rash
What additional symptoms can present with the rash in eczema herpeticum?
Systemic symptoms: Fever, lethargy, irritability and reduced oral intake.

Clinically
What can be used to confirm the diagnosis of eczema herpeticum?
Viral swabs of the vesicles
What is medical management of eczema herpeticum?
Acyclovir
What is mild to moderate eczema herpeticum treated with?
Oral acyclovir
What is severe eczema herpeticum treated with?
IV acyclovir
Why are people with pre-existing eczema and dermatitis normally affected?
The virus is able to enter the skin and cause an infection.
