Hibernation
Definition: A state of reduced metabolism and activity during winter.
Purpose: Helps animals conserve energy and survive harsh conditions.
Burrowing
Definition:

Purpose: Avoids daytime heat and predators.
Permafrost
Definition: Soil or ground that’s permanently frozen.
Location: Found in very cold regions, like the Arctic.
Canopy
Definition: The upper layer of a forest where tree branches and leaves form a dense cover.
Purpose: Provides shade and habitat for many forest creatures.
