Ecosystem
The relationship between the living species and their environment
Environment
The surroundings in which an organism lives
Habitat

Description of pitfall trap
A hole is dug to accommodate a container and a raised lid is placed on top to prevent entry of rain/predators. The trap is then left for a period of time.museful for collecting small ground living animals.
Quadrat
This is a square frame that can be placed at a series of randomly chosen coordinates.
If species cannot be identified then percentage cover can be used
Poorer
Allows small animals to be sucked into an observations chamber so that they can be easily identified
Net
Often used in long vegetation of in streams and rivers to catch small organisms to identify
Abiotic factors
Light intensity
Wind speed
Water availabilit
pH
