ECG Flashcards
ECG lead placement?
V1 - 4th space RSE V2 - 4th space LFE V3 - between V4 - 5th mid clavicle V5 - 5th anterior ancillary V6 - 5th mid axillary
WHat does P wave represent?
Atrial depolarisation
Normal duration <0.12s, 3 small boxes.
Where is PR interval measured?
Start of P to start of QRS
normal duration = 0.12 - 0.2
QRS normal duration and representation?
<0.12s, ventricular depolarisation.
Where is ST segment?
From start of S wave to start of T wave.
T wave?
Ventricular depolarisation
Should be half the height of QRS complex.
Right axis deviation would show what?
Negative deflection in lead 1
Positive deflection in lead 3 or AvF
Left axis deviation would show what?
Positive deflection in Lead 1
Negative deflection in 3 or avF.
How do you calculate rate?
300 / number of big boxes between R waves.
How do you calculate an irregular rate?
Number of QRS in 30 large boxes times 10.
Cause of righty axis deviaiton’/
Right ventricular hypertrophy and WPW.
What MI do you see left axis deviaiton?
inferior MI.
What MI is most likely to give an arrhythmia?
Inferior, RCA controls the SA node and AV node.
