ECG 4 - Cardiac Axis Flashcards
Axis devs are not significant in themselves
yet they’re presence should alert you to look for signs of ??? and ???, or other causes such as a ? ? (right axis dev) or ? defects (left axis dev)
normal depol pattern means ?+?+? are all ? but deflection greater in ? than in others - ? can be negative and still normal
RVH
LVH
PE
conduction
1 2 3 positive 2 3
RVH
- leads to ? axis dev
- which leads neg and which pos and which largest deflection
- tall ? waves where?
right for reaching 1 neg 2 pos 3 pos and largest r V1
LVH
- leads to ? axis dev
- which leads are neg which pos and which largest deflection - must be ? leads to be significant
this pattern is more commonly from ?? than LVH
-tall ? waves in ?
left for leaving 1 pos 2 neg 3 neg both conduction defects
r
V6
LVH voltage criteria
-? height of r wave in ? or ? and the depth of the ? wave in ? should not exceed ?mm (>? mm combined = LVH)
A classic sign of rvh is the ? point (when r and s waves are equal, normally at V3/4) moving to as far as ?/? - known as ? rotation
-rvh - also gives RBBB
