ECAM Flashcards
Can you state the Warning vs Caution classifications?
LEVEL 3- Master warning (RED) aircraft safety is compromised
LEVEL 2- Master caution (AMBER) aircraft safety may be compromised if there is an additional failure
LEVEL 1- Advisory (Amber) for crew information only
Can you explain what a secondary, primary and independent failure is and give an example of a primary failure?
SINGLE/INDEPENDENT FAILURES: a failure that does not effect other systems. The system title is underlined on the EWD eg BRAKES (underlined) HOT
PRIMARY FAILURES: A failure that affects other systems and causes secondary failures. The failure title is boxed on the EWD eg ENG 1 FAIL (boxed)
SECONDARY FAILURES: a failure that is caused by a failure of a primary system and not an unserviceability of that particular system. Secondary failures are in amber and proceeded by an asterisk on the bottom right hand side of the EWD eg *HYD
