A

A. Restriction of food intake –> significant weight loss

B. Fear of weight gain or being fat even at low weight

C. Disturbances in perception: self-evaluation heavily influenced by body weight or shape, fails to see seriousness of low weight, does not see self as low weight

Bulimia Nervosa

A

A. Presence of binge eating and compensatory purging bx

B. Binge eating

 1. excessive amount of food during a discrete period
 2. lack of control over eating episode

C. Compensatory bx in response to binge eating (excessive exercise, induced
vomiting, laxative abuse, fasting)

D. Duration: 1+ x week for 3 months

E. self-evaluation depends on body shape/weight

A

A. Episodes of binge eating

 1. excessive amount of food in a discrete period of time
 2. lack of control over binge eating episode

B. One of more of the following

1. eating alone due to shame
2. feeling negatively towards self after the episode
3. eating faster than usual
4. eating until uncomfortably full
5. eating large amounts while not hungry

C. Distress regarding binging

D. 1+ x week for 3 months

Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID)

DON’T NEED TO KNOW CRITERIA, JUST RECOGNIZE

A

A. Does not meet energy/nutritional requirements, associated with 1+ of the following

1. significant weight loss (unable to meet expected weight/growth in children)    2. significant nutritional deficiency    3. dependence on feeding tube or supplements    4. impairs psychosocial functioning

B. Not due to lack of food or cultural practice

C. Not exclusively within anorexia or bulimia + no evidence of perceptual disturbance in body weight/shape
