restriction of energy intake leading to low weight

disturbance of body image OR undue influence of body image on self eval OR lack of insight on seriousness of low body weight

What is a normal BMI?
18.5 - 25
Refeeding syndrome?
abrupt increase in glycogen, fat, protein synthesis requires K, P, Mg which were low to begin with
can precipitate arrhythmias
Best way to test for refeeding syndrome?
hypophosphatemia
5 criteria for bulimia nervosa?
recurrent binge-eating inappropriate compensatory behavior both occuring 1x/wk for 3mo undue influence of body image on self eval does not meet anorexia criteria
Common body weight with bulimia?
often normal or overweight
Bulimia nervosa tx?
therapy
fluoxetine
other antidepressants
avoid bupropion
5 binge-eating disorder criteria?
recurrent binge-eating
3 ass’d symptoms (eating rapidly, too much, when not hungry, embarrassed, depression/guilt)
distress about binge eating
1x/wk for 3mo
not meet criteria for anorexia or bulimia

CBT
lisdexamfetamine
sertraline
topiramate
4 criteria for ARFID?
persistent failure to meet nutritional needs
not due to lack of food or culture
no disturbance in body image
not meet criteria for another disorder
