Martin Luther/95 thesis

A

Martin Luther didn’t like Catholicism. So he posted 95 reasons why on a door to a church. Started the Protestant reformation. Pretty cool dude.

Henry VIII/Church of England/Mary I

A

Henry VIII wasn’t getting a divorce from the Pope because he had already done it a bunch, so he did the only reasonable thing… He raged and split England from Catholicism. He called their new church the Church of England. His daughter, Mary I didn’t like this, so she started killing a bunch of people who supported her father. A little extreme.

People didn’t like the fact that the protestant reformation happened, so a bunch of people gathered together to try and figure out how to stop it.

A

Spain wasn’t happy about England not being Catholic. And the ruler at the time, Elizabeth I was. So Spain sent a bunch of ships to go kill Elizabeth. Somehow England won.
