What is E-commerce?
E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods via the internet and distributing them by post.
What are the three must haves of a site used in e-commerce?
The site should be easy to use and to navigate
The site should accurately describe the goods and services for sale
Payment should be secure and the process easy to carry out
What are the forms of E-commerce?
Business to Customer (B2C)
Business to Business (B2B)
Customer to Customer (C2C)
Explain Business to Customer E-commerce
B2C commerce (business-to-customer): a business such as a retailer or manufacturer sells goods to the end consumer, for example buying clothes on line
Explain Business to Business e-commerce
B2B commerce (business-to-business): a business such as a supplier of vehicle parts sells them to vehicle
manufacturers.
Explain Customer to Customer E-commerce
C2C (customer-to-customer): one person sells goods to others eg selling your compact discs to someone who wants to purchase them.
What are three benefits of E-commerce?
Access to a wider market, lower costs of production for the entrepreneur and the convenience of making purchases
What are three challenges of E-commerce?
Access to a computer, cost of transportation and doubts about the seller
