He was sorrowful and in a bad state of mind. This is symbolised thru hemlock tree which is said to be a poisoned tree and the crow which is said to be of ill omen

A
Simple moments and occurring sometimes have a large significance. These things can change our moods drastically. They matter more than materialistic things. This occurrence left a deep impact on the poet and was a positive change for him. In the end regret replaced contentment
