Main Channel Location
Originates in uterus or deep in lower abdomen and emerges at perineum. Ascends on midline all the way up the back and neck to Du 16 where it enters the brain. Then ascends to vertex and down front of face to upper lip.
First Branch
Begins lower abdomen, descends to genitals and perineum, winds around anus, ascends to interior spinal column, enters kidneys.
Connecting Channel
Departs from du 1 and flows upwards along both sides of the spine do occiput, where it scatters over top of head. At scapulae, branch joins bladder channel and upper spine.
Second Branch
Lower abdomen, winds around external genitalia, ascends to middle of umbilicus, passes through heart, ascends to throat, winds around mouth, ascends below middle of eyes.
Third Branch
Emerges at BL 1, follows BL channel bilaterally along forehead, converge at vertex and enter brain, single channel emerges a DU 16, divides again descending through BL 12 along either side of kidneys
Luo Connecting Channel
Arises at Du-1, ascends bilaterally along sides of spine to nape of neck and spreads over occiput, at scapular region it connects with Bladder channel and threads through spine

Cautions: 3-14 Spinal canal lies between 1.25-1.75 cun deep to the skin surface, varying according to body build.
