What are the exceptions to the Medicare regulation requiring group instruction?

A

No group session is available w/in 2 months of the date the education is ordered, the individual has severe vision, language, or hearing limits, other conditions are ID’d by the treating professional, the assessment indicates that individual would benefit from individual education (this should be documented properly)

A

Underscores the importance of an individual’s perceived risk/seriousness as part of their health beliefs and determines the likelihood of adopting preventative health change

The Expanded Health belief Model has become the most frequently used theoretical model to predict health behaviors. 2 additional constructs include : cues to action and self efficacy

What is the Transtheoretical Model?

A

Includes six stages: Precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, termination

Seen as an ongoing process rather than a specific outcome. Moving through the stages is not necessarily a linear process
