Propranolol, Nadolol, Pindolol

A

NON-SELECTIVE BETA BLOCKERS
Typical angina only
Avoid in asthma (Xbeta2=bronchoconstriction), diabetes (Xbeta2=block glycogenolysis->deepen hypoglycemia) and peripheral vascular dz
Tox: fatigue, drowsiness, AV node depression, rebound (Pindolol: no rebound, less cardio depression)

Nitroglycerin, Isoserbide dinitrate

A

NITRATES:
Donate NO, venodilate, lower preload
Short-acting for TYPICAL (less cardio work), long-acting for ATYPICAL, PRINZMETAL(stop coronary spasm)
Tox: hypotension, tach

Ca CHANNEL BLOCKERS- Dihydropyridines
Block Ltype Ca channel in ARTERIOLE ONLY
Work for all angina types
Tox: hypotension, reflex tach (prevent with nifedipine and beta blocker combo), POSSIBLE MI (avoid in HTN pts)
