What are some class A drugs?
Heroin, cocaine, LSD, Mushrooms, Methamphetamine.
What are some class B drugs?
Cannabis products, opium, morphine, methadone, Ecstasy/MDMA.
What are some class C drugs
Cannabis leaf/seeds, codeine, ephedrine, party pills.
What are the quantities required for presumption of possession to supply?
- 0.5 g Heroin, cocaine
- 5g Meth, MDMA, Morphine
- 28g Cannabis plant
- 56g other controlled drugs
- 100 cannabis cigarettes
Possession OR use of controlled drug
1. Procure OR Possess OR Consume OR Smoke OR Otherwise use 2. Any controlled drug
What do we need to prove for the offence of possession or use of controlled drug?
- ) Possession - that they had possession/control over it.
- )Knowledge - That they were aware it was a controlled drug and it was in their possession.
- ) It was a usable quantity
Cultivation of prohibited plants

Define ‘prohibited plant’
Any prohibited plant listed in section 2 of the misuse of drugs act 1975
What must we prove for the offence of cultivation of prohibited plant
- ) They knew it was a prohibited plant

Define vehicle
Contrivance with wheels or tracks or revolving runners on which it moves or is moved.
Define premises
Any land, building, structure and it’s surroundings.

Any Utensil
OR
Any syringe

Any needle - For the purpose of the commission of an offence against the misuse of drugs act 1975.
Define ‘pipe’
Container in which material is burnt and smoke is inhaled.
Define ‘Utensil’
Instrument/vessel/implement.
