A

A

After several cyces, can develop maybe irreversible cerebellar ataxia
Most common adverse effects of chemo tx = peripheral neuropath w/ docetaxel, paclitax, vincristine, platinum

A

Host of chemotx drugs and cyclosporine, tacrolimus
Htn + confusion + seizure + visual changes - consider this in cancer/transplant
In prego hypertensive, its RPLS, eclamp, or venous throbosis cerebral

A

Can cause akathesia! If dystonic reaction, give diphenyhydramine (antichol)

Corticosteroids

A

Can take them for edema after a brain tumor rads therapy,. Weird if steroid taper => emergence of allergice SJS to the AED
Steroids => psychosis hallucinatios, start w/ agitation, sleep distrub, paranoia, maybe need AEDs

A

AED most assoc w/ teratogenicity, NTDS, cog develop problems
Also => weight gain and hair loss in user
Parkinsonism possible

Carbamazepime adverse rxns?

A

if take w/ erythromycin => ataxia, nystagmus or worse diplopia. Also happens w/ phenytoin, oxcarbaz

Statin adverse effect?

A

Musculoskeletal symptoms like myopathy w/ normal/elevated CK…can’t get out of chair but normal sense and reflexes

Oxcarbazepine effect?

A

Hyponatremia!! Check lytes within ten days of starting drug

Polypharm w/ thiazide or levetiracetam (Keppra) make it worse!

A

Also cyclosporine and other chemo tx => vasc injry + loss of autoreg, hypertension, seizures, confusion and posterior leukoenceph w/ gray matter. Pupils react but can’t see! RPLS!
