What is a drug tariff?
A
- Sets standards and payments for drugs and appliances
- Little info on drugs and detailed information on appliances
- Sent free to pharmacy contractors and upon request of GPs
- Tells you how much pharmacy will be paid and how much patient should pay

What can an FP10 prescription contain
A
Dressings, Appliances, Reagents, Drugs, Food, Cosmetics, Toiletries
- Cannot contain blacklisted items

What is a black list
A
- Restricts prescribing of medicines of some proprietary products and products of limited efficacy
- If generic drug itself is not black listed some brands of the generic drug may be dispensed

Pricing for special containers
A
Payment is based on the number of packs nearest to the quantity ordered

What is the halfway pack rule
A
- If quantity ordered falls halfway between two packs, you must dispense the lower number of packs
- Does not apply to oral liquid antibiotics

What does the advisory committee on borderline substances do?
A
- Advises DH on whether food or toiletry item can be classified as drugs in certain circumstances
- ACBS prescriptions are not checked
- Pharmacist always paid even if doctor has not endorsed prescription as ACBS

What is an SLS
A
- Drug prescribed under certain circumstances
- May only be prescribed for patient type and indication listed for that drug
- Prescriber must endorse with SLS

What are the four gateway criteria
A
- Contractors must meet this on the day they make their declaration for PQS payment
- This alone will not get the payment
1. Advanced services - NMS and NHS community pharmacy seasonal influenza vaccination services offered at pharmacy
2. NHSmail - Must have two live linked accounts to NHSmail which sends and receives NHSmail
3. NHS website - Update NHS website profile with opening hours and public holidays
4. Safeguarding level 2 - 80% of registered pharmacy professionals must have level 2 safeguarding status of dealing with children and vulnerable adults in the last 2 years prior to declaration

Achieving quality criteria
A
Contractors need to achieve all criterias within a domain to recieve payment for domain.
There are six domains and contractor can achieve as many domains as they wish
