Kidney damage, red man syndrome (allergy).

Permanent staining of teeth and bones in children <12 years.

Interacts with alcohol.

A
Weakens tendons, may damage joints in children, may cause seizures.

Signs of penicillin hypersensitivity.
A
Itchy rash, difficulty breathing due to swelling of mouth/tongue/larynx, low BP, swelling at injection site.

Antibiotics safe in pregnancy.
A
Penicillins/cephalosporins. Trimethoprim and metronidazole avoided in 1st 3 months.
