Digoxin

Lanoxin

A

Class: Inotropic agent, cardiac glycoside.
Action: Rapid acting cardiac glycoside; Increases force of contraction; Increases refractory period of AV node.
Indications: CHF, reentry SVT, ventricular rate control in fib/flutter.
Contraindications: Vfib, Vtach, digitalis toxicity, hypersensitivity.
Side Effects: Fatigue, headache, blurred yellow/green vision, seizures, confusion, bradycardia, N/V, dysrhythmia.
Dose: 4-6mcg/kg adults only.

Diphenhydramine

Benadryl

A

Class: Antihistamine, anticholinergic.
Action: Blocks histamine receptors, decreases vasodilation, decreases motion sickness.
Indications: Allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, motion sickness, phenothiazine OD.
Contraindications: Asthma, glaucoma, pregnancy, HTN, infants.
Side Effects: Drowsiness, seizures, headache, paradoxical CNS stimulation in peds, wheezing, palpitations, hypotension.
Dose: 25-50mg adults, 1-2mg/kg peds.

Dobutamine Hydrochloride

Dobutrex

A

Class: Sympathomimetic, inotropic agent.
Action: Synthetic catecholamine, increases contractility, SV and CO, increases renal blood flow.
Indications: Cardiogenic shock, CHF, left ventricular dysfunction.
Contraindications: Tachydysrhythmias, severe hypotension, IHSS, poison/drug induced shock.
Side Effects: Headache, dyspnea, tachycardia, HTN, CP, PVCs, N/V.
Dose: 2-20mcg/kg adults and peds.

Fentanyl Citrate

Sublimaze

A

Class: Opiod analgesic.
Action: Binds to opiate receptors, producing analgesia and euphoria.
Indications: Pain management, anesthesia adjunct.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, TBI.
Side Effects: Confusion, paradoxical excitation, delirium, CNS depression, sedation, respiratory depression, dyspnea/apnea, brady/tachycardia, hypotension, N/V, abdominal pain.
Dose: 50-100mcg adults, 1-2mcg/kg peds.

Flumazenil

Romazicon

A

Class: Benzodiazepine antagonist, antidote.
Action: Antagonizes action of benzodiazepines on the CNS, reverses sedative.
Indications: Reversal of respiratory depression and sedation from benzo OD.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, tricyclic antidepressants, seizure prone, coma.
Side Effects: Seizures, agitation, headache, visual disturbances, dysrhythmias, CP, HTN, hiccups, shivering.
Dose: 0.2mg adults only.
