A

nightmares are bad dreams and occur during REM sleep and are upsettin g or unpleasant. More common in children and people often wake up during this is why people cant remember them

Waking whilst asleep occurs during NREM stage 3 most common in children but can happen if your an adult usually lasts between 10-15 mins but could go to 30 mins generally unresponsive and you can wake them
