Q

How do you draw a Bohr Diagram?

A
  1. Find the number of protons of your given element based on its Atomic Number.
  2. Find the number of neutrons of your given element based on its Atomic Number and Mass number.
  3. Find the number of electrons of your given element based on its Atomic Number.
  4. Draw a circle representing the Nucleus of the atom.
  5. Fill the nucleus with the number of protons and neutrons.
  6. Start to fill in the energy levels(Orbitals) with the appropriate number of electrons.
  7. Always fill the lowest orbitals first ensuring the electrons are paired up.

Q

How do you draw Energy Level Diagrams?

A
  1. Find the number of protons of your given element based on its atomic number.
  2. Find the number of neutrons of your given element based on its atomic number and mass number.
  3. Find the number of neutrons of your given element bas3ed on its atomic number.
  4. Draw a circle representing the nucleus of the atom.
  5. Fill the nucleus with the number of protons and neutrons.
  6. Start to fill in the energy levels (orbitals) with the appropriate number of electrons.
  7. Always fill the lowset orbitals first ensuring that electrons are paired up.

Q

How do you draw Electron Dot Diagrams?

A
  1. Find the number of valence electrons of your given element based on its group number.
  2. Draw the chemical symbol for the atom.
  3. Draw the number of valence electrons around the chemical symbol as dots.
Note: Electrons should be drawn as pairs.
