How can Menieres be managed?
tinnitus therapy hearing aids restriction of caffiene, alcohol etc grommet intratympanic gentamycin/steroids surgery

Vertigo on looking up/turning/getting out of bed/bending etc
What causes BPPV?
otolithiasis
What may BPPV be confused with?
vestibular insuffiency
For VBI what else do you need to make a diagnosis?
patient will have other symptoms of impaired circulation in posterior brain eg visual disturbance, weakness, numbness
What is the Dix Hallpike test?
Look for nystagmus when patient turns head and lies down
In which condition, vestibular neuronitis or labyrinthitis, are you likely to suffer hearing loss/tinnitis?
labyrinthitis
How long do vestibular neuronitis and labyrinthitis tend to last?
days to weeks
