What is meant by the term unconscious bias
Unconscious bias is when people make quick judgments and assessments of people & situations without realising. These can be influenced by our backgrounds or personal experiences.
How are team members selected?
- Depending on what is required for the role/task
- Specialist knowledge
- To supply specialist components during certain phases of the role/task.
How are team members appointed?
- For employed persons, this is completed as part of the recruitment process
- Terms of the appointment are to be set out in writing as soon as is practically possible, defining the scope of services that are likely to be required and the fee that will be charged for those services.

Formal Complaint Procedure
Equality Act 2010
A discrimination law which protects individuals from unfair treatment and promotes a fair and equal society
The Act provides a legal framework to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of opportunity for all.
It has 9 main pieces for legislation
- equal pay
- sex discrimination
- race relations act
- disability discrimination
Employments Rights Act 1996
deals with rights that most employees can get when they work, including unfair dismissal, reasonable notice before dismissal, time off rights for parenting, redundancy
What is supplier diversity
The proactive activity to ensure that all relevant, potential suppliers have the fair and equal opportunity to complete for business within their supply chains. Includes micro, small and medium enterprises, social enterprises and those from minority groups.
Benefits of diverse suppliers
- Promote innovation through the introduction of new products, services, and solutions
- Provide multiple channels from which to procure goods and services
