Name and define the different types of Biases
A
- Stereotypes: The positive or negative beliefs that we hold about the characteristics of social group or people, without taking individual difference into account
- Prejudice: An unjustifiable negative attitude, beliefs, thoughts and feelings someone holds toward an outgroup or toward the members of that outgroup
- Discrimination: Unjustified negative behaviours and actions toward members of outgroups based on their group characteristics
- Stigma: Characteristics that are seen as negative by society and are often projected unfairly towards an individual or group
