Alzheimer’s stages
1) short-term memory (forgetting things)
2) further explicit memory loss (anterograde and retrograde amnesia), change in mood fluent aphasia, difficulty with complex tasks
3) looks of speech, can’t recognize family, motor problems, bed ridden, opportunistic respiratory infection
Intelligence and age
Speed, motor skills not as quick over time
But Long-term memory
Language are crystallized intelligence that don’t decline over time
Verbal, working memory, perceptual organization, processing speed in order of least decline over time
Seizures
Grand mal - tonic (extension of the legs) and clonic (violent rhythmic contractions)
Petit mal
Cryptomnesia
Perceiving recovery of info from memory is own original idea
Source amnesia
An episodic memory disorder when contextual info about facts are distorted or hard to recall.
Dementia due to HIV
Involves cognitive, personality and motor symptoms
Poor attention, cognitive slowing, apathy, forgetfulness, clumsiness and leg weakness.
Occipital lobe
Peripheral vision - anterior
Central vision - posterior
