What does the oesophagus do?
tube that connects mouth to stomach
What does the mouth do?
the food is chewed by teeth and swallowed
What does the rectum do?
where the faeces is stored
What does the pancreas do?
produces amylase, lipase and protease and releases them to the duodenum
What do the salivary glands do?
produces saliva which contains the enzyme salivary amylase.
What does the stomach do?
contains enzymes pepsin and hydrochloric acid to kill bacteria
What does the liver do?
produces bile to break down large fat globules
What does the appendix do?
part of large intestine, no use in humans, painful if it bursts.
What does the duodenum do?
where food come into contact with bile.

- villi are finger like parts that are in the small intestines that absorbs broken down foods.
- microvilli are even smaller villi that are on the villi.

-circular muscles pushing food down

where the faeces leaves the body
