A

Requires energy to digest and fire, better to eat warm foods so our body doesn’t have to use as much energy to heat the food to digest. Limit amount of energy spent on digestion.

Better to have lack of diversity - limit information given to digestive system, also eat smaller meals, good to have a staple, don’t fill the stomach completely. Eat grains, eat seasonally and locally. Chew fully.

Meat rots (tamasic) in the digestive system. Beware of foods that cool.

Digestive Process

A

Digestion starts in mouth with chewing, saliva has healthy enzymes that start the process

Tongue problems food through pharynx to esophagus, peristalsis into stomach.

Food enters stomach where acid breaks down further, food leaves stomach. Into duodenum where it receives pancreatic enzymes.

Goes to small intestine, Bile from liver and gall bladder mixes begins to assimilate nutrients. (New blood created here)

Moves into large intestine after, where water is absorbed and fecal matter is formed.
