How did the heavens and the earth begin?
God created them
When God created the earth, what was it like at first?

God said, “Let there be light.” He saw that the light was good. He called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”

They were gathered in one place (seas).
What did God call the dry ground and the gathered waters?
Land and seas
What did the land produce on the third day?
Seed-bearing plants and trees
What did God create on the fourth day?
Greater and lesser lights, and stars
On what day did God place two lights in the sky and make the stars?
The fourth day
What two things did God create on the fifth day?
Great creatures of the sea and birds
What command did God give creatures of the sea and the birds?
Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the water in the seas; let the birds increase on the earth.
What did God create on the sixth day?
Livestock, creatures that move along the ground, wild animals, and mankind
In whose image was mankind made?
God
What was different about the creation of people?
Only people were made in God’s image and likeness

Seed-bearing plants and every tree that has fruit
To whom did God give every green plant for food?
The beasts of the earth and the birds of the sky; all the creatures that move along the ground; everything that has the breath of life in it.

How was the seventh day different from the other six days?
God rested from His work.
