Q

How does the difference in concentration affect the diffusion rate

A

The bigger the difference in concentration, the faster the diffusion rate

Q

What kind of molecules can fit through cell membranes

A

Small molecules - (glucose, amino acids, water and oxygen) large molecules cannot fit (starch and proteins)

Q

How does diffusion across cell membranes work

A

Particles flow through the cell membrane from higher to lower concentration. They move randomly, so they go both ways, but there will be a lot more particles on one side of the membrane and there’s a net movement from that side
