ENERGY THAT FUELS CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN YOUR BODY THAT KEEP YOU ALIVE.
What is your metabolic rate?
THE SPEED AT WHICH THE CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN YOUR BODY OCCUR.
Will people with a higher proportion of muscle to fat in their body have a higher or lower metabolic rate?
HIGHER.
Why do men tend to have a slightly higher metabolic rate?
BECAUSE THEY’RE SLIGHTLY BIGGER AND HAVE A LARGER PROPORTION OF MUSCLE.
Why is it that the bigger you are you need more energy?
BECAUSE YOU HAVE MOR CELLS.
What are carbohydrates needed for?
TO RELEASE ENERGY.
What do you get if you’re lacking in a certain food group?
A DEFICIENCY DISEASE
