What are the infective causes of diarrhoea?
A
- Bacterial e.g campylobacter, shigella/salmonella, E.Coli – associated with bloody diarrhoea, fever, unwell
C.Difficile causing pseudomembranous colitis – can lead to toxic megacolon - Viral e.g. rotavrius – watery diarrhoea, crampy abdominal pain and vomiting

What are the non-infective causes of diarrhoea?
A
- Ischaemic colitis
- IBD
- Constipation with overflow diarrhoea
- Acute appendicitis

What are the non-GI causes of diarrhoea?
A
- Anxiety
- Drugs (PPI, laxatives, abx, NSAIDS)

What does IgA TTG test for?
A
Coeliac disease (and other autoimmune conditions but this one primarily)
