Development of Muscular System Flashcards
What is derived from the paraxial mesoderm?
Somites (Myotome, Sclerotome, and Dermatome)
What is derived from the Intermediate Mesoderm?
Urogenital (kidneys/gonads)
What is formed from the lateral plate of the mesoderm?
Connective tissue
What is located on the ventromedial part of the somite?
Sclerotome
What is formed on the dorsolteral part of the somite?
Dermatome and Myotome (Myotome is deeper)
What does the epimere form?
It is part of the Myotome
Epaxial muscles (muscles of the back)
What does the Hypomere form?
It is of the myotome
All other muscles (except dilator and constrictor pupulis muscles of the eye).
Epaxial divisions form what?
Extensor muscles of the neck and vertebral column.
Hypaxial divisions form what?
Cervical myotomes
Thoracic myotomes
Lumbar myotomes
Sacrococcygeal mytotomes
Cervical myotomes form what?
Scalene, prevertebral, geniohyoid, infrahyoid muscles
Thoracic myotomes form what?
The lateral and ventral flexor muscles of the vertebral column.
Lumbar myotome forms what?
Quadratus lumburom
Sacrococcygeal myotome forms what?
Muscles of the pelvic diaphragm
