Symptoms of Rosaecia
Predominantly affects forehead, Nose and cheeks
Flushing - 1st signs
papules/pustules

Rhiniphyma
Management of Rosacea wiith predominantly facial flushing
Topical Brimonidine
Mechanism of action of Topical Brimonidine
A2-adrenergic agonist that promotes vasoconstriction of the superficial vessels to help reduce flushing
- Peak onset within 30 mins
- Lasts 3-6 hours
- Used PRN
Management of Mild-Moderate Pustules/papules in roseaca
Topical Ivermectin - 1st line
Alternatives - Topical Metronidazole or Topical Azelic acid
Management of moderate-severe pustules/papules in rosacea
Topical ivermectin + Oral doxycycline
Can you use topical corticosteroids for the management of Roseaca
No - Can exacerbate

Primary disease of the skin that usually occurs in children who have atopic eczema

Describe the rash seen in Eczema herpeticum
1-3mm circular ulcerating rash that is rapidly progressing and PAINFUL
Presentation of eczema herpeticum
Preceeding atopic eczema
Rapidly progressing rash - 1-3mm, punched out, ulcerating lesion, Monomorphic
Fever
Bowel changes
Management of eczema herpeticum
Admission to hospital and treated with IV Aciclovir
