Greasy, occlusive, good for thick keratotic lesions. Do not use on hairy areas or intertriginous areas (lead to folliculitis and maceration).

Drying, disappear into skin, more cosmetically pleasing.
Lotions and gels: properties, pros/cons
Lotions contain alcohol, both dry quickly and are good for hairy areas or exudative lesions.
Ultra high (Group I) Steroid
Clobetasol proprionate 0.05%
High/Medium high (Group II/III) Steroid
Betamethasone diproprionate 0.05%
Medium (Group IV/V) Steroid
Betamethasone valerate 0.1%
Low Potency (Group VII) Steroid
Hydrocortisone 1%, 2.5%
How to determine amount of steroid cream needed
0.25 g = 0.5 FTU = 1 palm
