Demand and Supply Structures Flashcards
What is a ‘Demand Structure’?
In the Domain Model, the demand structures are the Domain, Sub-Domain, and Squad. Demand structures represent where the work is - individuals from the capability group will get assigned to one of these structures to perform that work.
An additional Demand Structure can be the ‘Asset’ as some of our Domains (partially or wholly) serve as Enabling Domains to others, owning a Platform (Asset) for the enterprise.
What is a ‘Supply Structure’?
In the Domain Model, everybody is part of a supply structure that includes roles that sit within groups, based on the P&C determined Job Career Architecture (JCA).
If Demand structures are ‘where you go to work’, Supply structures represent the ‘home’ of colleagues. This is where people leadership and capability development are.
What do Demand and Supply structures look like in practice?
Our colleagues come together in Domains to deliver work. Where Domains represent the demand or ‘what’ roles responsible for the ‘how’ are supplied into Domains to fulfill that demand.
