What is a project?
A temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique product or service (outcome or result).
What is Project Management?
the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities in order to meet stakeholders’ needs and expectations from a project
RESPONSIBILITY – AUTHORITY GAP
This occurs when a manager is held responsible for the success or failure of a task or project, but they do not have the necessary authority to carry it out effectively.
Teamwork
When people work collaboratively towards a common goal as distinct from other ways that individuals can work within a group.
Team charter definition
A document that sets out the working relationships and agreed behaviours within a project team.
A Process
a systematic series of actions or functions to bring about a required change or result
Business Case
a formal document or verbal value proposition that outlines the justification for commencing a project or undertaking a specific task.
Feasibility Study
Identifies the need for the project and whether it has a possibility of being successful. This can include actions and alternative actions needed for the feasibility study.
WBS
Work Breakdown Structure is one of the key scope planning tools used to subdivide the scope of work into manageable work packages which are easier to estimate, plan, assign and control.
Feasibility Study
An analysis to determine if a course of action is possible within the terms of reference of the project. Work carried out on a project or alternatives to provide a basis for deciding whether or not to proceed.
Project Time Management (Scheduling)
The process used to determine the overall project duration and when activities and events are planned to happen.
