A
life is sacred and should be treated with reverence
life has an intrinsic value and that this is a value which commands respect
helps to explain why we see life as a sad event

A
‘in the first instance’ - it means that there is a strong presumption against ending life
However is less demanding than the absolutist view, at times there may be competing values that the action to shorten life may be permissible

believes that principles such as abortion, euthanasia, and withdrawal of ventilation of morally wrong. They violate the SOL
