what is required to obtain DEA?
must include physical location and current name of applicant. DVMs may function as agents of the registrant. Agents may dispense or administer. Only DVMs with valid DEA number may prescribe. Power of attorney may be granted for ordering inventory.

safe place, securely locked cabinet within a locked room. schedule 2 order forms, records of purchases, and records of administration at same location.
Schedule 2 drugs
high abuse potential. accepted medical use. high potential for psychological or physical dependence with abuse
Schedule 5 drugs
low potential for abuse relative to C4. accepted medical use, abuse of drug may lead to limited physical dependence or psychological dependence relative to C4.
when is it appropriate to request compounding of drugs?
anticipation of prescriptions based on routine, regularly observed prescribing patterns. preparation pursuant to a prescription of drugs or devices which are not commercially available. preparation of commercially available products from bulk when prescribing practitioner has prescribed the compounded product on a per prescription basis and the patient has been made aware that the compounded product will be prepared by the pharmacist.
