Automatic
Manual
Back up
The “on bat” light on the ADIRS is on when?
Beginning of a complete IRS alignment

ADIRS 1 usually supply’s which PFD & ND?
Captains side
ADIRS 3 can provide data to which PFD/ND?
Either CPT or FO
How do we normally tune nav aids?
Via the MCDU in Automatic
The ISIS gets Pitot and static data provided by which Pitot and static port?
Sby pitot
Sby static ports
TAT 1 (captains) supplies which ADIRS?
ADIRS 1 and 3.
Which ADIRS does TAT 2 (FOs) supply data to?
ADIRS 2
For a CAT 3 single and dual approach, how many RAD ALTs are required?
2
If you have lost 1 RAD ALT, what cat approach are you limited to?
Limited to a CAT 2 approach
What does a flashing IR fault light mean?
What does a permanent IR fault light mean?
Attitude and heading into may be recovered in ATT mode
The IR is lost and when turned off, FAULT light goes out
Max allowable speed difference between ADIRS 1 and ADIRS 2?
6kts
What is the role of the A320 fuel system?
6 parts
- store fuel (in tanks)
- supplies fuel in correct quantity to tanks during refuelling
- supplies fuel to engines & APU
- circulates fuel to cool IDG
- controls transfer of fuel from centre to wing inner tanks
- keeps fuel in outer wing tanks for wing bending and flutter relief
What are vent tanks for?
To allow for fuel expansion. Anything over 2% max uplift and it begins venting
If fuel temp increases by 20 degrees C, what % does its volume increase by?
2%
Minimum fuel for takeoff?
1500kgs
How can we close the LP fuel valve?
Engine master switch and fire push button
What happens if all electric fuel pumps begin to fail on the aircraft?
Gravity fed fuel. Not suction fed!
Fuel feed sequence?
Centre tank
Wing inner tank
Wing outer tank
How many refuelling panels and refuelling couplings are there?
2 refuelling panels
2 refuelling couplings
Does the aircraft have gravity refuelling points? If so, where?
Yes and in the outer tanks
What controls automatic refuelling of the aircraft?
FQI
What colour is the fuel cross feed “on” light?
White
How long do the centre tank pumps run for when the tank is empty?
5mins
Flashing green “end” light on the refuelling control panel indicates?
Solid green “end” light indicates?
Refuelling has been aborted
Refuelling is completed
Where does the fuel feed from for the engines?
Inner wing tank with 2 pumps
What weight of fuel must the inner tanks drop by, before the centre tank begins refuelling the inner wing tanks?
500kgs used in the inner tanks, then the centre feeds the fuel into the inner tank
At what fuel imbalance (in KGS) will the tank quantity begin flashing green?
When it detects an imbalance of at least 1500kgs
When does the fuel used reset?
At engine start
To cross feed fuel, which tank LP fuel pump must be turned off?

During a fuel imbalance, which side flashes?
The fuller tank flashes green
Total usable fuel?
24,209Litres
At what fuel weight do the transfer valves open?
When either inner tank reaches approx. 750kgs, which is when both inner tank valves open (as they open simultaneously, controlled by the FLSCUs).
