What are the 6 switches on the Override / Bypass Panel
(in order)
- Door Loop Bypass
- Doors Enable Switch
- ATC Bypass
- Emergency Brake Loop Bypass

Doors Loop Bypass
- What is this used for?
- What panel is this on?
When we cannot get an all doors Closed + Locked signal
(this includes EDD)
Located on the Override / Bypass Panel
Doors Enable Switch
- What is this used for?
- What panel is this on?
Used to allow manual opening and closing of doors either left or right.
Used when:
*Train is in RM mode
*Train is not on the platform
*Train is in the yard or in the tunnel (between starions)
Used in conjunction with open / close buttons on door indicator panel.
Located on the Override / Bypass Panel
ATC Bypass
1. What is this used for?
1. What panel is this on?
Disconnects the signalling system. Train is limited to an enforced 25kph.
Used when:
* a signalling EB can’t be released
* Coupling with another train
* Opening train doors with doors enable switch in tunnel/yard
* ATC not operating
* To sleep train not docked corrrectly
Electric Coupler Bypass

1. What panel is this on?
Used in coupling - doesn’t allow the electric coupler head to extend and interface with the other train (this prevents the train being towed/pushed from passing issues onto the other train)
Located on the Override / Bypass Panel
Deadman Bypass
1. What is this used for?
1. What panel is this on?
Bypasses DSD (deadman) If it’s faulty. Using this bypass required 2 qualified workers onboard

Break Loop Bypass

Bypass Park Brake - used when main air pressure falls below 4.5 bars, automatically engaging the Park Brake.
Located on the Pressure Guage Panel
TMS Bypass Switch

This is never to be used by a CJCT.

What function does the CCTV Tab on PACIS serve?
Displays feeds from CCTV cameras onboard the train.
Able to select specific cameras and can enlarge and focus on specific feeds.
What function does the PEA Tab on PACIS serve?
PEA Tab flashes RED when a pending Passenger Emergency Alarm has been activated.
The PACIS screen will display the CCTV image of the customer engaging the PEA, and allow the operator to answer the PEA call and communicate with.
How is a PEA activation reset on PACIS?
- When PEA is activated, the PEA indicator is illuminated on the pressure gauge panel.
- Brings train to a complete stop (full service brake)
- Acknowledge alarm on PACIS PEA tab, selecting CCTV alarm to view CCTV feed
- CJCT accepts call on PACIS, communicating with the customer using PACIS handset and pressing the talk button to speak.
- End call or place on hold
- Push the PEA indicator button on the pressure gauge panel to reset PEA alarm
- Check DDU (TCMS screen) for EB & reset if EB was applied
What does the CAB-to-CAB function on the PACIS do?
Allows an operator to call and communicate with another operator in the opposite DTC car of the train.
What does the Broadcast function on PACIS do?
Allows an operator to broadcast a spoken message to the train using the PACIS handset. Broadcast can be played on internal, external or all speakers.
