A

its a good visual representation of the relative sized of shares of a whole part, its easy to understand.
makes different categories of data easy to compare.

A

alone the don’t give very detailed information.
they don’t show whether there’s been an increase or decrease of proportions over time.
they don’t show casual relationships like the impact of advertising and sales revenue.

A

its immediately clear which is highest and lowest, it’s a clear format.

A

oversimplify data and further explanations may be needed to give an accurate analysis.
can be manipulated to show false results and patterns.

what’s the difference between histograms and bar charts?

A

histograms so quantitative data and bar charts are categorical data.
histograms are continuous so they touch and both the x and Y axis have value, for bar charts only the Y-axis has a numerical scale.

what are index numbers and how are they used?

A

they’re used in order to make numerical data easier to understand, useful to show changes over time like in price levels, consumer income levels etc.
