Q

NOTE
To operate the “…”, the “…” and the “…” the EPU switch must be switched in ON position. Leaving the EPU in ON after aircraft shutdown could result in EPU “…”

A

Standby Attitude Indicator, the VHF 2 COM radio and the map lights.

Could result in EPU battery discharge or damage.

18
Q

CAUTION

If battery is switched OFF when the generator is ON, do not turn the battery switch back on as what?

A

“It may cause damage to the voltage regulator and thence cause loss of generator power.”

19
Q

What buses does the generator supply power to?

A

Primary and secondary.

20
Q

CAUTION

The EPU must be in “…” position whenever external power is connected to the aircraft.

A

OFF

21
Q

NOTE

BAT switch shall be in OFF position when external power is used, otherwise?

A

The external power is shut off.

22
Q

CAUTION LIGHTS

What does the amber GEN caution light mean?

A

Volt under 25 +/- 0,5

23
Q

CAUTION LIGHTS

What does the red FIRE ENG caution light mean?

A

275 degrees c in motor

24
Q

CAUTION LIGHTS

What does the red OIL PRESS caution light mean?

A

Below 6,5 +/- 2,0 PSI

25
Q

CAUTION LIGHTS

What does the amber FUEL PUMP caution light mean?

A

Fuel pressure min 20 +/- 1 PSI

26
Q

WARNING

Ensure what when the rudder pedals have been moved?

A

That the rudder locking pins are fully engaged.

27
Q

CAUTION

Can you use both the electrical and manually trim system at the same time?

A

No: “Using both trim systems at the same time may cause damage to the system.”

28
Q

WING FLAP SYSTEM

What four pre-selected positions does the flaps have?

A

0, 10, 20 and 38 degrees.

29
Q

STALL WARNING SYSTEM

Where is the stall warning transmitter located and when does the stall warning horn sound?

A

On the RH wing and at 5-10 kts above stalling speed.

30
Q

FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS

Name the three pressure instruments.

A

Altimeter
Airspeed indicator
Vertical speed indicator

31
Q

FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS

Name all the electrical instruments.

A

Main Attitude indicator
Stand-by attitude indicator
Radio magnetic indicator
Turn/slip indicator

32
Q

NOTE
When the aircraft has been exposed to moisture and/or icing conditions, the possibility of obstructed static ports should be considered. Partial obstructions will result in the rate of climb indication being sluggush during a climb or descent. How do you verify suspected obstructions?

A

By switching to ALT STATIC AIR system and noting a sudden sustained change in rate of climb. This may be accompanied by an increase in indicated airspeed of 5-10 kts and altitude changes beyond normal calibration differences.

33
Q

ALTITUDE-ENCODER/PNEUMATIC ALTIMETER

When does the diagonal warning symbol appear and what does the CODE OFF warning symbol mean?

A

Under 10 thousand feet. Altitude encoder is inoperative.

34
Q

NOTE
If the altimeter’s internal vibrator is inoperative what effect may then be exaggerated? and when should you especially watch for this?

A

The pause-and-accelerate effect may be exaggerated. The pilot should be watchful of this behavior when the minimum approach altitude lies within the “8” to “2” sector of the scale, e.g., 800-1200 feet.

35
Q

ATTITUDE ENCODER/PNEUMATIC ALTIMETER

If the CODE OFF is shown, what should you check for?

A

Check that the DC power is available and the circuit breakers are in. If the CODE OFF is still visible, contact a ground radar site.

36
Q

STARTING UP THE INSTRUMENT (ATTITUDE INDICATOR)
After the instrument has been energized check for what? And how long after the power has been applied should you pull the resetting knob?

A

Check that the power supply warning flag has disappeared.

Within 30 seconds after power has been applied.

37
Q

CARBON MONOXIDE INDICATOR

What color does it turn in the presence of CO?

A

Black

38
Q

NOTE
If the fire extinguisher is used at a short distance and aimed at panels etc., the liquid HALON 1211 may get into the eyes and cause irritation. What is therefore suggested?

A

To lower the helmet visor before using the extinguisher.

39
Q

ATTITUDE INDICATOR

What does the main attitude indicator show?

A

Pitch and bank attitude with an operational range of 360° in both pitch and bank.

40
Q

ATTITUDE INDICATOR

Where does the main attitude indicator get power from?

A

The primary bus

41
Q

ATTITUDE INDICATOR

What is the erection rate of the main attitude indicator?

A

The system will erect the vertical gyro at a saturated erection rate of 2.5° per minute minimum.

42
Q

ATTITUDE INDICATOR
In case a deflection occurs (fx during a loop), it can be cancelled by ______.
Otherwise the error will be absorbed ______________ by the action of the erection system.

A

“resetting the attitude indicator, as soon as the aircraft is in level flight”.

“in a few minutes”
