cytoskeleton - secretory vesicles - Vacuoles - cell inclusions Flashcards
diverse intracellular non-living substances that are not bound by membranes.
cell inclusions
stored cellular products
carbohydrates , lipids
pigments as , endogenous , exogenous as tattoo marks
foreign bodies
dust particles , viruses , intercellular bacteria
animal cell and plant cell differ in
animal cell has centrioles , plant cell has cell wall and chloroplasts
contain materials that are to be excreted from the cell , Cells have to dispose of wastes , Cells are specialized to produce certain chemicals that stored in secretory vesicles ,
Secretory vesicles
are Large membrane sac, larger than vesicles which contain mostly water , More prominent plant cell , store water, sugar, salts, pigments and toxic substance to protect plantfrom herbivores.
vacuoles
Interlocking filaments of fibers form a dense network that anchors the organelles to the cytoplasm , In motion and permanent change , It is involved in determining the shape of the cell and moving it, supporting it .
cytoskeleton
is a collection of protein filaments and cylinders that determine the shape of a cell
cytoskeleton
During cell division assemble into a structure called the spindle, which pulls the chromosomes apart , has a size between 20nm to 25nm , made up of tubulin proteins arranged to form a hollow, straw-like tube, and each tubulin protein consists of two subunits, α-tubulin and β-tubulin .
microtubules
They have a diameter of about 7 nm , are made up of many linked monomers of a protein called actin , they serve as tracks for the movement of a motor protein called myosin , in animal cell division, a ring made of actin and myosin pinches the cell apart to generate two new daughter cells.
microfilament
made of multiple strands of fibrous proteins wound together , come in a different varieties, each one made up of a different type of protein , have an average diameter of 8 to 10 nm ,
Intermediate filaments
