Luminal epithelium
Inner layer- actually secrets cells of the TDLU (where cancer begins on cellular level)
Myoepithelium (muscle)
Middle layer- acts as a barrier to keep everything inside the duct
Basement or basal membrane
Outer layer- that holds it all together and responds to hormonal fluctuations
Ductal carcinoma
Most common form of breast cancer (cancer inside the milk ducts)
