What is cytokinesis?
A
The division of the cytoplasm, which is also the second stage in the cell cycle.

Cytokinesis in animal cells
A
The cell membrane pinches in, forming a cleavage furrow that deepens until the cell splits into two identical daughter cells.
-> It is NOT a phase of Mitosis
-> It does begin preparations for the division of the cytoplasm before telophase ends.
-> It is very different in animal cells rather than plant cells.

Cytokinesis in plant cells
A
A cell plate forms in the middle of the cell, eventually will become a new cell wall that separates the two daughter cells.
