Motivation and 3 types
3 types of motivation theories: Moslow, taylor and herzerberg.
Moslow says that its like a hierarchy. Growth Needs- Once satisfied individuals will find new ways to satisfy these needs.
Frederick Herzberg suggested motivation is influenced by TWO groups of factors.Hygiene factors: factors that can lead to workers being dissatisfied. He argued that to improve workers’ motivation, firms needed to improve these hygiene factors. Hygiene factors may include salary, working conditions, company policy or the way people are treated at work. Motivators: factors that help employees to gain job satisfaction, such as recognition of the job they are doing. An increase in motivators is required to improve job satisfaction
.Frederick Winslow Taylor created Scientific Management which is management that takes into consideration methods of measurements under controlled circumstances to maximize output.

WORKING WITH A CONCEPTUAL
Intro to mcodnalnds
Mcdonald’s is an American fast-food company that produces foods and drinks such as burgers, fries, cola, etc.
Mcdonald’s was founded on 15 April 1955, in San Bernardino, California. The founders of Mcdonald’s are brothers named Richard McDonald and Maurice McDonald. Their goods have been successfully selling for many years, with a net profit peaking at over 2.99B in 2021. (introduce Topic, ex leadership, motivation or organizational structure)
The CEO has changed from Steve Easterbrook to Kempczinski. Mcdonald’s leadership style is autocratic and therefore crew members are not involved in any decision-making.
Innovation affect on the three topics
Innovation affect on leadership style:
New ideas such as arprente and t Dynamic Yield
McDonald’s made significant drive-thru technology investments (such as dynamic menu boards — leveraging personalization technology from Dynamic Yield) and operational improvements (such as a staffing overall and dramatically cutting menu items to their “core menu”) to ultimately deliver the value their customers cared most about: speed. These innovations enabled McDonald’s to cut 30 seconds from its drive-thru times on average and move “300 million additional cars” through McDonald’s drive-thrus during the pandemic. Such focus on innovations targeting their core customer enabled McDonald’s to recover sales more quickly than anticipated and become one of the few fast casual restaurants to sustain demand for drive-thru.
These affect leadership because different ideas need different leaders to make those ideas into goals. An example of this would be McDonald’s is a joint-venture company managed by two Indians. While Amit Jatia, M.D. Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. owns and spearheads McDonalds in west & south India, McDonald’s restaurants in North & East India are owned and managed by Vikram Bakshi’s Connaught Plaza Restaurants Private Limited. So they understood their culture and they knew they had to innovate and think of new ideas for the menu since beef was illegal in india. Thier ideas include more vegetarion items and items inspired by indais cuutre.
Innovation affect on orgnazatiion structure:
Organizational innovations have a tendency to improve organizational performance by decreasing transaction and administrative costs, enhancing the satisfaction of employees within the workplace, attaining access to non-tradable assets or decreasing the cost of supplies.
Innovation also affected mcdonalnds orgnaizaiton suture during the pandemic. Because they neeed de a bigger organzational since they wrer going to add a tech team in order to make sure all of their techonoligcal equipment was working properly. Innovation also invited competisson and allowed mcdoanondlsnt o grow faster and bigger.
Innovation affect on motivation
Allowing your employees to have new ideas that could be useful to the organziation, allows them to feel more appreciated and can have a very psootive affec on their perepsitive on work. Which corotllets to moslow theory of motivation, in which he believes it is ahierarhy, and self-assure is the one of the top that a person needs. So innovation can be very useful to both the business and the employees. It also the business to grow faster because they have engaging employees who are happy at work.
Change affect on the three topics
How does change affect Leadership style:
Change in menus
Change in CEO’s because the leadership was bad
Leaders understand the business case for change and are some of its biggest advocates. However, change often requires leaders to cede control, and that might diminish their power in the organization; for example, if decision-making moves to managers and front-line workers.
Leaders must be able to adapt to change

Change in rules (2019 incident)When growth demands new employees, the organizational structure no longer can remain loose because employees must be coordinated and held accountable. Creating the needed rules and roles makes the structure more mechanistic.

A rapidly changing world and new technology has created a society craving for speed and action as leaders, we face incredible pressures to deliver immediate results, to do more with less and to manage an ever -increasing personal work loads but in a world changing conditions and priorities, leaders and individuals contributors alike must be able to look beyond the now and take a more strategic leadership approach to their work. For any ongoing of business strategy is a main important thing and for the implementation of that strategy, leaders are required.

How does strategy affect organzational structure:
Changing strategy means changing what everyone in the organization does. When an organization changes its structure and not its strategy, the strategy will change to fit the new structure. Strategy follows structure. Suddenly management realizes the organization’s strategy has shifted in an undesirable way.

Ethics:
How does ethics affect leadership:
Mcdonalnds leadership changed when previous ceo did somerhign unethical
Mcdonalnds cares very deeply about leadership and choose their leaders based on if it correlates with the vision of the company and if the leader is ethical, because he represtns mcdondlands so he must act ethical and in the best interest of mcdonalnds
How does ethics affect motivation:
Employees wnt to work in a company that is ethical. So if a company isnt ethical they would want to leave since it doesnt corelate iht thier ideas, so if mcdonalnds is ethical this is a hyerbg hygenei factor and will make meployees leae if they are unethical but they wont feel happier if they are ethical, since most companys are ethical.
