  • feet perpendicular to gantry table
  • knees extended w/feet together
  • foot board/tape used to maintain position
  • tube CAN be angeled if proper position cant be obtained

whats the size of the most common slice thickness?

A

5-10mm

-a decrease of slice sizes means an increase in the amount of xrays done to achieve an image

radiation exposure w/ CT scans

A

-dose: 1-3 rads!!
- for 20 slices is about 2.6 rads
note for xrays 5 images its 0.1rads
