CPH Titration Flashcards
CPH How many samples do you receive? What are the volumes?
2 titration codeine (less then 85 ml so that you have enough for rinses ) and 1 phosphoric (more than 100 Mls so that you have enough for the 1L phosphoric titration prep)
CPH Before the sample comes in 3 things ()
Clean your glassware, clean and rinse 25 Mls burette with plant ethanol, calibrate your pH low end)
CPH when the sample comes in codeine tritration what info must the label have?
Titration volume, temperature
CPH what to do with PA? Steps
Tare 100 mls flask, add PA with dry funnel. Record tare and gross weight.
Transfer this to the 1L flask, triple rinse flask and funnel. Use maybe another funnel.
CPH julia detail abut sample temp
In the spec it says wait for it to cool, but people usually just go
CPH codeine sample steps
Transfer sample form jar to cylinder, get all crystals out, use the ethanol form burette to rinse 1 or 2 maybe more depending on how much sample remains in the jar
Remember tp rinse the jar some times
CPH important fact to remember about rinsing codeine jar
Never go above 100mls
CPH important things about burette here
Always record every volume on a post it first just in case before moving on
CPH burette and cylinder decimal places
Cylinder 1 decimal burettes 2?
CPH actual sample calculation
Cylinder - burette
CPH after your done with cylinder , what next
Transfer to 400 ml beaker rinse with water and ethanol and then fill to about 200 (this is just so tha the electrode pH can reach)
Titration with PA (you can go fast with about 30 MLS)
CPH Basically the plant ethanol is just to (difference between two titrations)
Plant ethanol to rinse, the PA is used to actually titrate your sample
